The file says Iran moved thousands of nuclear centrifuges into the mountain — Israeli intelligence, first reported by the Jerusalem Post, the first known transfer of equipment into the site. Iran began digging the complex in 2020, about a mile south of Natanz. Its halls run as deep as 145 meters, by the Institute for Science and International Security's estimate. The shaking registered 7 on Japan's shindo scale — the top of the scale, the level Kumamoto last hit in April 2016. The epicenter sat near Uto, a coastal city on Kyushu, Japan's southern main island. JMA issued tsunami advisories along the coast and lifted the last of them at 6:10 p.m., inside two hours.

The Secret Service opened an investigation into an AI-generated video from Tasnim — the news agency Iran's Revolutionary Guard runs — that maps where and how to kill Melania Trump, and closes with a message for her son: “Barron Trump, wait for us!”

Tasnim published the video Monday. It opens on the First Lady's profile, drawn in blood, beneath the title “Where to Kill Melania?” A Farsi-speaking narrator calls on “global freedom fighters” to act. He walks them through her Manhattan routine and names the stores — Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue. “Melania's obsession with fashion has become her biggest weakness,” he says. The video mocks up her motorcade moving through New York streets. Tasnim splices in the Secret Service code names both Trumps carry and the procedures agents use to lock down a route. Newsweek and Fox News detailed the contents. Barron Trump is 20.

Chuck Grassley gavels the Senate Judiciary Committee to a vote Thursday morning on Todd Blanche's nomination for attorney general. The math changed two weeks ago. Darline Graham took her late brother's Judiciary seat on July 21. She restored the Republicans' 12-10 edge, and she counts as a likely yes. That leaves two Republicans holding the outcome: John Cornyn and Thom Tillis.

Cornyn wants Blanche's commitments in writing — kill the $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund, tighten Trump's audit-immunity deal. Asked whether Blanche should count on his vote without them, Cornyn said: “That is correct.” Tillis says he still lacks what he needs. Both men run their stated doubts through Blanche's handling of the Epstein files. Grassley already recessed one committee vote when his own members failed to show. “Kind of rude,” he said.

“Everywhere you see this merging of two wars coming from Iranian agents, from Russia’s influence agents,” the Russia analyst told Zev on Narativ Live. “I guarantee you that Russia is behind this narrative — because in December they were completely quiet.”

December is the tell. Ukraine first struck Russian vessels in the Caspian Sea last December — ships Kyiv says ran weapons between Russia and Iran, cargo invoiced as bananas. Nobody objected. “The Russians didn’t say anything. The Iranians didn’t say anything. The Americans didn’t say anything,” Lautman said. This week Ukraine hit the same route again — and Tehran erupted. A senior Iranian parliamentarian threatened Ukraine on Twitter, in Ukrainian. Iran claimed the struck vessel as its own; Ukraine says it hit Russian ships. The difference between December’s silence and this week’s screaming, Lautman argued, is an audience of one — the story exists to tell Trump that Ukraine is wrecking his Middle East plans.

The wars did merge — years ago, and in hardware, not headlines. Iran handed Russia its Shahed drones in 2022, then opened joint drone factories inside Russia. China ships military components and helps Moscow dodge sanctions; Russia trains Chinese troops for an invasion of Taiwan, Lautman said, while North Korea sent 10,000 soldiers last year and, per new intelligence she cited, prepares 30,000 more. “Ukraine has been the laboratory for this.”

And the country supposedly dragging America into world war keeps picking targets a general would choose. “Ukrainians are going after logistical routes,” Lautman said — refineries and export terminals 1,300 kilometers inside Russia, supply lines “choking off Russia’s reach into Crimea,” even Wildberries, Russia’s answer to Amazon. The bill so far, she said, citing the British Defence Ministry and U.S. intelligence: 1.4 million Russian casualties, several hundred thousand of them dead.

Then came Navy Day. Putin marks it most years by reviewing the fleet. This year the fleet stayed out of sight — Ukraine has sunk roughly 30 percent of it, Lautman said — so Putin reviewed a painting. “They couldn’t bring the vessels, so Putin had to deal with the banner of a submarine.” Even the wall behind him was painted on.

That humiliated navy shares the Black Sea with Romania, where Russian drones crossed the border three days running — Friday, Saturday, Sunday — and Romanian F-16s shot down all three, the first such kills in the country’s history. On Monday, Bucharest declared a Russian embassy staffer persona non grata after prosecutors confirmed the wreckage as Russian. Moscow denied aiming anything at Romania and promised retaliation.

Lautman set the incursions inside a warning European intelligence services keep raising: Russia “might test Article 5” — strike a Baltic state or Romania — “to see how NATO will respond” while Trump sits occupied elsewhere and cold on the alliance. And the test would not look like tanks. “They can do drone swarms and hit Romania or Estonia or Lithuania, and that would be enough,” she said. Russia rehearses with 200, 300, 400 drones a night over Kyiv. Ukraine now sends the same numbers back.

Her oldest warning ties it together: Russia moves on Europe while China moves on Taiwan — one axis, two theaters. The merging of two wars is propaganda. The merging of four regimes is documented.

Melania Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito of Brito PLLC in Coral Gables, Florida, demands that Zev and journalist Amanda Ongaro “immediately retract the false, malicious, and defamatory statements” in their report “Special Report: The First Lady Spy Scandal” — and compensate the First Lady for “overwhelming financial and reputational harm.” No suit has been filed. Zev read the letter on air and declined every demand. “I don’t even know how to retract it, because it’s just accurate reporting,” he said. The report never called her a spy; it documented the newly released emails around Paolo Zampolli, the man who ran what looks like a Russian linked influence operation inside the United Nations — and it asked what the First Lady’s unprompted denial was for. “This is just an intimidation tactic,” Zev said. A federal judge in Miami took up the Tate brothers’ extradition Monday, and Rep. Ansari wants Barron Trump under oath about political interference in it — before the end of the year, Dean reported. His reporting puts the president’s son at the center of the manosphere’s money: $150 million in crypto this year, a video call with Andrew Tate that a Tate associate sat in on, and leaked texts showing the brothers telling associates to call Barron Trump — to get their phones back from the State Department, to protect them in the United States. The phones came back.

4️⃣ Netanyahu picks a fight with New York

Benjamin Netanyahu heads to his eighth meeting with Donald Trump while calling New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani a man “fomenting hate” — because Mamdani said the feds should arrest him on the ICC warrant. That warrant lost its prosecutor Friday: 125 member states voted Karim Khan out on sexual misconduct allegations, after a pressure campaign Israeli officials ran openly. Khan denies the allegations and is fighting the removal. Remove the prosecutor, mock the warrant, walk free.

3️⃣ The email inside the DOJ

The Narativ exclusive the whole hour bent around: at 7:49 AM on July 24, 2025 — the morning Todd Blanche interviewed Ghislaine Maxwell — one DOJ official asked another for “a sentence or two… [on] the salacious statements made against the individuals in the file.” The 9:53 AM reply catalogued allegations against Trump, Weinstein, Prince Andrew, Dershowitz, Clinton, Wexner, Lutnick and more — and closed with eleven words about the man who used to run the Department: “William Barr, for being present when a girl was raped.” At 10:12 AM, Maxwell started answering Blanche’s questions. Over two days he asked her about every name on the list except Howard Lutnick. On Barr, she answered “no,” then “I don’t recall.” Weeks later the Bureau of Prisons moved her to a minimum-security camp in Texas. The senders’ names are redacted; the entries are allegations logged inside the DOJ, not findings — and that is the point. “It’s a cover-up of a cover-up of a cover-up,” Zev said. His full Barr investigation posted Monday at narativ.org, alongside the estate story: executors have paid out roughly $500 million at their own discretion, Karyna Shuliak stands to collect as much as $100 million, and Maria Farmer — the federal witness — got next to nothing.

2️⃣ + 1️⃣ The dead, restored — and two wars becoming one

Zev merged the top two on air because they are one story. The Pentagon moved four dead and some 200 wounded into a new “Overseas Operations” category, cutting the public death count from 18 to 14 — then quietly restored the four after the reporting caught it. The BBC now confirms more than 600 US service members injured since February. The strikes on Iran paused, the New York Times reported, after military leaders warned they were draining Patriot interceptor stocks; Dean walked through the open-source math and put remaining key munitions near a quarter. And Ukraine hit an Iranian target on the Caspian Sea. “We’re going to see this merging of these two regional wars into what can only be described as a world war,” Zev said. He left the question where it lands: who profits from an America that spends its arsenal on a war it cannot finish?

THE PATTERN

Dean tied it off in one line: the same people. The names in the DOJ’s own file are the names running the Department, the estate, the manosphere, and the war — and one of them just sent a journalist a letter demanding silence. One hundred days to the midterms. The letter didn’t work.

Two days after Jeffrey Epstein died, William Barr stood before the Fraternal Order of Police in New Orleans and made an unusual statement about an ongoing investigation. “I was appalled — indeed, the entire Department was — and frankly angry, to learn of the MCC’s failure to adequately secure this prisoner,” the Attorney General said. “We will get to the bottom of what happened at the MCC, and we will hold people accountable for this failure.”

48 hours after Epstein’s death, Barr was ready to assign blame to the MCC with almost no investigation. Then Barr said something that in hindsight reads very differently.

“Let me assure you that this case will continue on against anyone who was complicit with Epstein. Any co-conspirators should not rest easy.”

Since then - 7 years - no one has been charged with Epstein's murder, nor has anyone been able to prove that he suicided himself. The DOJ has pursued no Epstein's co-conspirators — in fact, many of them had their names redacted from the files to protect them. But that doesn't mean the cover-ups of the Trump DOJ have succeeded.

The Epstein files are like a corpse that refuses to sink to the bottom of a river. No matter how hard officials try to suppress them, they keep resurfacing — and each time they rise to the very top of the Department of Justice - with fatal political consequences.

Pam Bondi was the next to take on the corpse that would not sink. On July 24, her deputy — Todd Blanche, Trump's former defense counsel, now Acting Attorney General — was given an extraordinary assignment: a jailhouse interview of Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell. The interview has since been panned as a whitewash — two days of questioning to put on the record what Maxwell would not say about the men in the Epstein network.

At 7:49 AM on the morning of the interview, a DOJ official emailed another — both sender and receiver names are redacted:

“Can you write me a sentence or two… [on] the salacious statements made against the individuals in the file. Feel free to add if I missed someone.”

Then the list: Trump, Weinstein, Prince Andrew, Dubin, Staley, Black, Wexner, Dershowitz, Clinton, Lutnick, Brunel. And closing it, an entry the official summarized by the sender:

"William Barr, for being present when a girl was raped."

Eleven words, written inside the Department of Justice, about the man who used to run it. Narativ surfaced the email Friday — EFTA01648946, sitting unnoticed in the public release for six months — and reported what it means for Blanche's confirmation as AG: it certainly weakens it. Pam Bondi is another AG to take the fall for the Epstein cover-up. But until now — until the newly discovered email — Bill Barr has evaded scrutiny for his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

The reply to the initial email about “salacious statements” came two hours later, at 9:53 AM.

Cecilia Vega spent three months wondering why CBS fired her. This weekend she stopped wondering quietly. The former 60 Minutes correspondent — the first Latina correspondent in the broadcast's history — says executives under Bari Weiss pushed her team to report events that "never happened."

The specifics are worse than the phrase. Covering the January shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minnesota, Vega says CBS News leadership pressed her to include video of protesters assaulting people they believed were undercover ICE agents. Her team searched for the incidents. They found, in her words, "no credible examples." The network wanted the assault narrative anyway — a narrative that happened to serve the administration's case for the crackdown that produced the shootings.

CBS swept Vega out in the spring purge that also removed correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi and senior producers Tanya Simon and Draggan Mihailovich — the deepest cut at the broadcast in its history. Weiss arrived as editor in chief last fall, installed by Paramount chief David Ellison. "I still have not been given a reason," Vega says.

Narativ wrote Saturday about the press corps performing capitulation at the correspondents' dinner — three hours of it, in one closed loop. Vega's account shows the mechanism one layer down: not reporters flattering power at a podium, but a network manufacturing the footage power needs and firing the correspondent who checked. On Friday a federal judge voided Kash Patel's subpoenas against New York Times reporters after the government admitted a "mistake" — the state's front door failed, and the corporate side door swung open the same season.

The oldest newsmagazine on American television asked a reporter to put things on the air that did not occur. She refused, and she's the one out of a job.

Brazilians recognized the operation because they watched it work on America. America didn't do this to itself — Russia ran the operation against America, and Narativ has reported that thread since 2016: the seeded doubt, the fabricated fraud claims, the capture of a major party. Michael Flynn pleaded guilty — twice — to lying about his calls with the Russian ambassador. Trump's Justice Department paid him $1.2 million this March.

The same crew wrote the domestic version. Narativ's April investigation with Denver Riggleman, The Plot to Steal 2026, traced the path: Flynn, Sidney Powell, Patrick Byrne, and Phil Waldron drafted a voting-machine seizure order at Tomotley Plantation in November 2020, and the framework resurfaced as Trump's March 31 executive order — the federal voter list, DOJ prosecution power over state election officials. This weekend a federal appeals court blocked that order's voter list. Riggleman called the Tomotley file a crime scene. Barnes and Samson work for the government that signed it into force.

Waldron's fabricated 2020 "evidence" blamed foreign servers and Venezuelan algorithms for American votes. Six years later the same movement sends real officials to a foreign country to impugn real machines. The projection completed its circle in Brasília — and Brazil, unlike America in 2016, saw it coming.

One hundred days out from the American midterms, Barnes and Samson stayed home. The machines in Brazil will count the votes. The question Narativ has asked for ten years still stands: who counts ours?

Donald Trump ordered the military to stop bombing Iran on Friday. He gave the order himself, two sources told Axios, after thirteen straight nights of strikes. The Wall Street Journal reported why: the military is running low on the interceptor missiles that knock down Iran's answer. Mike Waltz, Trump's UN ambassador, blamed Joe Biden for the shortage on Sunday — then said in the same interview that the military has "everything that it needs." Both can't be true.

Ali Khamenei matched the stop. His government said Sunday that Iran holds its fire as long as Trump holds his, and Khamenei set his price for any deal: Israel ends its attacks on Lebanon. Trump says the two sides are talking. His aides told the Washington Post he is still weighing escalation. Sen. John Kennedy defended the daily strikes on Sunday television: "Sometimes you have to kill a few chickens to scare the monkeys." Congress takes up a war-powers vote this week. Eight in ten Americans told pollsters the war has run harder than Trump promised.

Then Abbas Araqchi, Iran's foreign minister, threatened a second country. Karyna Shuliak Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend helped manage the operation, sending $50,000 to Darren Indyke — the lawyer who now co-runs the estate that owes her as much as $100 million — and smaller runs to accountant Richard Kahn, scheduler Lesley Groff, pilot Lawrence Visoski, and the household account at El Brillo Way, his Palm Beach mansion. Girlfriends don't wire the lawyer $50,000. Operators do.

The New York Times put Shuliak on Sunday's front page as Epstein's heir — a 37-year-old Belarusian dentist working under the name "Dr. Karyna" in Downtown Brooklyn. The Times told the love story. The transaction records tell the business story, and Narativ has both.

Start with the marriage. Epstein wrote in 2013 that a same-sex marriage was the fastest "way to a green card" for Shuliak, who had overstayed her visa. He then instructed one of his victims — a 30-year-old assistant from Minnesota — to meet Shuliak at the New York City Marriage Bureau on September 16, 2013, bags packed to fly to his island straight from the license window. The woman later told the estate she was forced into it, and that nobody told her the wedding sat days before Shuliak's deportation hearing. "Nobody was permitted or dared ever to disobey Jeffrey Epstein," her lawyer Brad Edwards said. House Oversight Democrats called the marriage potentially "illusory." Immigration authorities have challenged nothing. Shuliak became a citizen in May 2018 and divorced a year later.

Now the estate. Indyke and Richard Kahn — Epstein's lawyer and his accountant — have run it since 2019 with no independent oversight. The same transaction archive shows Indyke moved $8.67 million to Kahn, wired $5.9 million to the pilot, sent $110,000 to Ghislaine Maxwell, and routed millions through transfers to himself. Deutsche Bank wired him $4,999,999 — one dollar under five million. Then $249,999 — one dollar under the next reporting line.

The survivors watched that money from the outside. Maria Farmer reported Epstein to the FBI in 1996, before anyone. Her emails sit in the same government release: "Why have I been provided zero protection as a Federal witness?" she wrote her own lawyers last year, while fighting claims that she "raked in the 'big bucks.'" Survivors say they received nothing or close to nothing while insiders collected millions — Shuliak's bequest is the case in point. Farmer is preparing a statement to Narativ.

Nobody vetted the source of the fortune. No court has examined whether the estate handling was clean; Narativ's Greatest Heist revealed Jeffrey Epstein manipulated markets. The FBI never interviewed Shuliak. Lawyers for hundreds of victims never deposed her. A bequest this size, from an estate this dirty, to a beneficiary this involved, can be frozen with a signature — and nobody has moved to freeze it.

Epstein's fortune was near $600 million when he died. The estate holds $120 million to $200 million now. Dozens of beneficiaries wait alongside her.

She was his last phone call from jail. She may be the last person he pays.

Police arrested two suspects Sunday night after a shooting at the Bite of Seattle food festival killed three people and wounded three, including a two-year-old boy. Gunfire erupted near Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center shortly after 6 p.m. Pacific — witnesses told KOMO they heard seven to eight shots, and a food vendor’s live stream captured the shots and the crowd running. One vendor pulled people over a cement wall to get them out.

Harborview Medical Center reported the survivors' conditions: a woman in critical condition and in surgery, the two-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man, and a 39-year-old woman, with wounds to the arm, legs, and abdomen. Seattle police evacuated Seattle Center and told the public to stay away. By 8 p.m. Pacific, officers held two suspects. Police have released no names, no motive, and no weapon details. The FBI says it is aware of the shooting. Bite of Seattle — the city's largest food festival, in its fifth decade — had drawn thousands to the same campus tourists know for the Space Needle.

Europe spent the same weekend counting its own casualties from an attack on a crowd. A man drove a van into Berlin's Pride crowds near Tiergarten on Saturday, killing one person and injuring 16; organizers called off the parade with hundreds of thousands gathered. On Sunday, Berlin police shot dead the suspect, Abdul Ballout, after they say he came at officers with a blade in a Spandau garden colony. German authorities call the Berlin attack Islamist terror. Chancellor Merz called it "heinous."

Both attacks hit NATO countries in the same weekend. Police have named no motive in Seattle, and no clear information links the two. What they share is the target: people gathered in the open — a food festival, a parade — in two cities that treat public celebration as ordinary life.

Berlin canceled its parade. Seattle evacuated its festival. The Seattle suspects have no names yet.

The 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner will be studied one day, and not for the jokes. I carried the feed live on Narativ Friday night and cut it halfway through Donald Trump’s speech, because by then the room had said everything it had to say.

The room itself was the first fact. The correspondents held their First Amendment celebration at the Waldorf Astoria — the former Trump International Hotel, which the president reminded them he built. Weijia Jiang, the outgoing association president, works for CBS News, which David Ellison now owns. Paramount paid Trump $16 million last July to settle his 60 Minutes lawsuit and clear that merger — Narativ reported it the day it happened — and Ellison is reaching for CNN through a pending Warner purchase. The reporters toasting press freedom answer to owners who answer to the man they cover. No one on the dais mentioned it.

From the wide shot, everyone blended in — tuxedos, gowns, the old guard of American media seated with the cabinet dismantling the country they cover. You could not tell the watchdogs from the watched. I spotted Substack names in the room too, back for the back-slapping the platform was supposed to be the exit from. Nobody really leaves the club. They just change the letterhead.

Jiang opened by thanking the president. “Thank you for being here again. Thank you for all your support as we reschedule this dinner,” she said, and recalled his verdict from April 25, when a gunman shot a Secret Service officer at the Washington Hilton and ended the first dinner before the main course: the ballroom was “totally unified,” “a very beautiful thing to see.” Three months later, she told the room, “it still is.”

What unified them was an assassination attempt. The night a room of feted journalists became a story, and did what they had been trained to do - reporters reported in their gowns, Officer Victor Gonzalez took a round to the vest, and the president took questions at a podium. Friday’s re-gathering turned into a celebration of sorts. We did our jobs.

No one asked where that press corps goes the other 364 days. The shooting is still under investigation; nobody in that room asked what the president knew and when. No one asked if the shooting created a trauma bond between the regime and press corps. Jonathan Karl told the president, “It matters that you came here tonight.” Jackie Heinrich, the incoming president, said the room was “grateful” he came. Gratitude, from the press, to the president, for agreeing to be covered.

Prime Minister Mark Carney answered in writing. He called the move “the latest in a series of unilateral U.S. trade actions” that violate CUSMA, the free-trade agreement binding the two countries and Mexico. Canada, he wrote, has “merely matched” the earlier U.S. tariffs on its auto sector. Carney did not threaten new retaliation. He said Canada had made detailed proposals to modernize CUSMA and stood ready “to intensify those discussions in the coming weeks,” and that he had spoken with Trump and agreed to speed up negotiations.

The target is an ally. Canada is the United States’ largest trading partner and a treaty partner, and the tariffs arrive under a law written for countries that discriminate against American commerce.

He warned that China — or any nation — would face that rate, effective immediately, if it were caught supplying weapons to Iran, after U.S. intelligence reported that Beijing was preparing to ship anti-aircraft missiles to Tehran. Since then, the Pentagon counts 18 U.S. service members killed in the Iran war. Narativ has reported that Chinese technology helped Iran target American troops. The 50 percent tariff Trump signed this week did not land on China. It landed on Canadian alcohol, dairy, and hockey gear.

On Thursday, July 23, the Justice Department withdrew its grand-jury subpoenas against three New York Times reporters rather than let a federal judge throw them out. Judge Arun Subramanian, in the Southern District of New York, had given the government a choice: withdraw, or he would quash them. The department withdrew. Subramanian’s order declared the subpoenas “null and void.”

The subpoenas grew out of a Times story the White House hated. On July 8, the Times reported that Trump had flown home from a NATO summit in Turkey aboard an older Air Force One, because the Secret Service raised security concerns about the new jet gifted by Qatar. Two days later, on the night of July 10, federal agents went to reporters’ homes with subpoenas compelling grand-jury testimony. The Times later reported that FBI Director Kash Patel, at the White House, personally oversaw issuing them.

In court, the government’s case fell apart. A lawyer from the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office conceded that subpoenas sent to reporters’ spouses and to one reporter’s mother were an “error” and a “mistake.” Subramanian pressed the department on why it had not sought the information another way first, noting that its “own regulations and policies indicate that subpoenas are the last step, not the first step.”

The Times called the subpoenas “the latest salvo in an escalating series of attacks on journalists to intimidate them from engaging in reporting that the Trump Administration openly detests.” Its lawyers argued the demands violated “the most basic First Amendment protections for newsgathering activity.”

The collapse reaches beyond the Times. Narativ has learned that Melania Trump’s lawyers threatened Narativ with a lawsuit over its Zampolli investigation — a threat that lands one day after Patel’s subpoenas were ruled void. Narativ stands by its reporting.
