Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won a fourth term as president of Brazil on Sunday night, beating Flávio Bolsonaro by 4.4 million votes, 51.8 percent to 48.2. Bolsonaro, whose father is serving 27 years for trying to overturn the last election, refused to concede and asked the courts to annul the result. Lula told the crowd, "This country will not accept being anyone's backyard." He had told the United Nations to stay out of his election, and the second round came out where the polls said it would. The same night Serbia's students swept Aleksandar Vučić from power.

4️⃣ Trump Refused Netanyahu's Pre-Election Strike on Iran

CNN reported Monday, citing two American officials and an Israeli security source, that Benjamin Netanyahu pressed Trump for a joint strike on Iran before the election and Trump refused. Avigdor Lieberman asked for a treason investigation into the prime minister for trying to use a war to hold power.

3️⃣ Rogers Ducks Welker, Obama Answers for El-Sayed

The Republican running for Senate in Michigan went on Meet the Press on Sunday and would not say whether he is MAGA, or whether he would vote to repeal Trump's tariffs on Canada. He called the question "a little bit disgusting." Welker played him his own earlier words on talking to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, the group his campaign now pins on Abdul El-Sayed. Barack Obama answered the attacks on El-Sayed's faith at a Detroit rally: "We have seen this movie before. I starred in it."

2️⃣ Anthropic Files to Go Public With an $80 Billion Loss

The company behind Claude filed Monday to sell shares on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. Revenue in the first half of the year was $16.3 billion, up 1,300 percent; the net loss was $80 billion, most of it an accounting charge. Disclosure: Narativ's desk runs on Anthropic's models.

1️⃣ Raskin Names Trump and Zampolli as Possible Co-Conspirators

Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, released a 50-page staff report on Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. It describes evidence involving 11 women, five of whom accuse Trump of rape or sexual assault in Epstein's company. The report says Trump and Paolo Zampolli, the model agent who was a Trump envoy until last week, "may have been co-conspirators" in Epstein's trafficking. It says a longtime Epstein assistant told the FBI that Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. Trump removed Zampolli three days before the report came out. Jamie Raskin released a 53-page report Monday morning that calls Donald Trump "an active participant" in Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of young women and names Paolo Zampolli, Trump's model scout and until recently his envoy, a likely co-conspirator in the same ring. Then it names who is covering it up: Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trump's former defense lawyer. It is a minority staff report. Raskin's Democrats wrote it alone and released it eight days before the vote. The FBI files inside it do not know that. A girl of 18 or 19 arrived from Poland or Slovenia with no money and no papers. Zampolli signed her, got her a visa and put her in a model apartment on Varick Street with 10 other women. Epstein came to the castings and went through the portfolios. Two women told the FBI that is how he found them.

💣 STRIKE HELD

Donald Trump is leaning toward a major strike on Iran and wants the midterms out of the way first. Two US officials told CNN on Monday that the forces are in place, with a target list covering Iran's energy plants, military sites and nuclear facilities, ready to go "within 96 hours of receiving" his order. The White House declined to comment. The date is the story. Trump posted on Oct. 8 that "we will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the Midterm Elections."

Trump waits on two elections before bombing Iran

The date is the story. Trump posted on Oct. 8 that "we will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the Midterm Elections." His generals have the target list ready 18 days later.

Trump spoke in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday with gas at $4.29 a gallon, against $3.06 a year ago, and 73% of likely voters told the New York Times/Siena poll they disapprove of how he handles it. Trump told the crowd his staff had begged him off the subject: "My people say, please don't mention that, Sir, people are paying a little higher." Then he said it anyway. "I don't give a damn, I'm gonna say it: We're making a frickin fortune." He said the country is "making hundreds of billions of dollars because of what's happened in the Middle East."

Benjamin Netanyahu wanted the strike before his own vote, not after. An Israeli security source told CNN that Netanyahu "really wanted and tried to convince Trump for a joint attack in Iran before the elections," and that Trump held off partly because Israel's army chief, Eyal Zamir, warned Gen. Dan Caine a strike could harm Israel's election and force its postponement. Netanyahu's office called that "fake news." Channel 12 reported Zamir and Netanyahu clashed this weekend over a political directive on Iran, and Defense Minister Israel Katz called the report "completely baseless and false." The joint plans sit ready, "waiting for Trump's approval," the source said.

So the strike waits on two ballots, and the oil price waits on the strike. "We're making a frickin fortune" — who is the "we"? Because Americans are not.

Anthropic Asks Wall Street to Pay for Its Compute

Dario Amodei filed on Monday to take Anthropic public on Nasdaq. Buyers will trade it as ANT.

Amodei is showing them a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first six months of 2026. Amazon and the other noteholders account for almost all of it, $72.4 billion: their IOUs turn into shares at the listing, and the IOUs grew more valuable because Anthropic did. Anthropic's accountants book that gain as the company's loss. Nobody wrote a check for it.

Anthropic lost $693 million on operations in the half, on revenue of $16.3 billion. The same company brought in $1.16 billion in the same six months a year earlier. Anthropic told investors last week that the third quarter alone reached $16.8 billion and that it is profitable on its own adjusted measure. Anthropic held $131.7 billion in cash and short-term investments on June 30.

Investors are haggling over the valuation, and the loss is a story about that valuation and nothing else. Reuters reports they have come down to about $1.5 trillion from the $1.8 trillion to $2 trillion floated earlier, with a roadshow aimed at the week of Nov. 9.

Lula told Trump to stay out of Brazil's election. Then he won it.

In July 2025 Trump put 50% tariffs on Brazil, partly over Jair Bolsonaro's coup trial, and Marco Rubio restricted the visa of the judge running it. In May this year Trump, Rubio and JD Vance hosted Flávio Bolsonaro at the White House, and Trump called him "a smart young man." Days later the State Department named two Brazilian gangs terrorist organizations, and Flávio claimed the credit. In July Washington stacked 25% more tariffs on top. Before the first round the State Department suspended consular services across Brazil over security concerns it never described. Trump never formally endorsed Flávio. He never had to.

Lula said it out loud. In June he told Trump not to meddle. In late July Brazil denied visas to two State Department officials, accusing them of trying to meddle in the vote. Washington revoked the visa of Brazil's ambassador, Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti, soon after. On Sept. 22 Lula said he had told Trump "it is very important that the U.S. do not interfere" and that he was "very worried about Marco Rubio." The White House called that "nonsense."

Flávio beat him in the first round on Oct. 4. Lula posted his first selfie video to TikTok three days later and brought in Ana Elisa Santos Silva, a 21-year-old influencer just elected Brazil's youngest federal deputy, to put him on ground the Brazilian right usually owns. On Sunday Brazil answered. Lula took 51.8%, nearly 4.4 million votes clear: "This country will not accept being anyone's backyard."

A girl of 18 or 19 arrived from Poland or Slovenia with no money and no papers. Zampolli signed her, got her a visa and put her in a model apartment on Varick Street with 10 other women. Epstein came to the castings and went through the portfolios. Two women told the FBI that is how he found them.

The first was Epstein's Polish assistant, who visited him in prison more than 50 times and was named in the unfiled 2007 indictment. She told agents Zampolli became her agent at 19, put her on Varick Street, had an affair with her, and that Epstein found her swimsuit shots in a portfolio at Zampolli's agency. The same FBI interview has one line: "Epstein introduced Melania Trump to Donald Trump."

The second signed with Zampolli at 18, lived on Varick Street, found him "sleazy" and dated him. Then she was sent to give a massage at Epstein's house, where he raped her.

Zampolli, asked about the first woman by the American Prospect in April, answered: "I remember that girl, I don't even remember. She was one of them. If you say so, you know, we have so many models," and by text rejected "any implication of involvement, collaboration, or endorsement."

For 30 years Zampolli has said he introduced Melania to Trump at his party in 1998. Raskin sets it against two women who slept with him at the time: the Polish assistant, and Amanda Ungaro, his partner of 19 years, who told Narativ on camera that Epstein made the match. Melania has denied it. She too lived on Varick Street.

Zampolli lost the envoy job this month. On Sept. 30 a young Republican model sued him in Manhattan and said he drugged and raped her in 2023.

LULA BEATS TRUMP’S MAN — AND SERBIA’S STRONGMAN FALLS THE SAME NIGHT

Brazil’s electoral court called it at 9:12 PM Brasília time. With 99.76 percent of sections counted, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva took 51.75 percent — 64,066,539 votes — to Flávio Bolsonaro’s 48.25 percent, 59,724,015. A margin of 4.3 million. A fourth term. And, as Zev put it from the desk Sunday night, the end of “the most sustained campaign a US administration has ever run to pick Brazil’s president.”

Three weeks ago this was Flávio’s to lose. He beat Lula in the first round on October 4 by 2.2 million votes. Trump called it “a very tight but great victory.” Prediction markets had him at 78 percent as polls opened Sunday morning. The polls said 51–49. The polls were right.

How the night went

Polls were due to close at 4 PM Eastern. At 4:11, Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin ordered every station in the country to stay open two more hours after both campaigns asked for time — Lula’s coalition citing bus service cut in São Paulo and Salvador, Flávio’s citing weather. The electoral court froze the count at 4:20 with a quarter of one percent in. It restarted at six.

Lula led the first boxes. Flávio passed him at about 15 percent counted and held the lead through 45. Then the South and Southeast — the regions Flávio was supposed to own — came in, and Lula went from nothing to two million ahead. “Squeaked away with quite a resounding victory,” Zev said on air. “I say squeak and resounding in the same sentence. It doesn’t always fit.”

Turnout was 80.79 percent of 158.7 million registered voters.

What Brazil voted against

Reuters reported Saturday, on ten current and former US officials, that Trump’s team spent eighteen months working to return the Bolsonaros to power: Magnitsky sanctions on Alexandre de Moraes, the justice who convicted Jair Bolsonaro of plotting a coup; visas revoked for the justices who sat with him; tariffs on Brazilian goods with the father’s prosecution named as the reason; a terrorist designation for Brazil’s gangs announced the day after Flávio met Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in May. Eduardo Bolsonaro worked the State Department from Washington.

Lula told voters for months that Washington was trying to pick their president. Zev’s read Sunday night went further: that the Trump administration’s hand showed in the first round, and that the second round was the one Brazil got to decide for itself. “Trump will try and make it seem like he had nothing to do with all of this,” he said. “He was caught in the cookie jar.”

Flávio had promised amnesty for his father, who is serving 27 years. He admitted taking about $12 million from banker Daniel Vorcaro to fund a film about him and is under investigation for corruption, money laundering and tax evasion. Brazil read all of that and still gave him 48 percent. Not a landslide. A decision.

Serbia, the same night

Aleksandar Vučić conceded Serbia’s parliamentary election ninety minutes after polls closed in Belgrade — fourteen years of one-man rule, gone to a leaderless Students’ List with no politicians on it. By his own party’s projection the students take 135 to 140 of 250 seats to his 105, roughly 2.2 million votes to 1.7 million, on turnout near 70 percent — the highest since Milošević fell in 2000. He blamed independent media, unnamed European governments and “an American deep state.” Putin had endorsed him.

The movement began under a concrete canopy at the Novi Sad railway station that collapsed in November 2024 and killed sixteen people. Dijana Hrka, who lost her son there, told N1 from the Belgrade crowd: “I have been waiting for this moment for two years.”

And in Venezuela, María Corina Machado slipped back into the country Sunday after a year outside it — the story Narativ led with at 1:30 PM, before Brazil took the night.

The pattern

Orbán fell in April after sixteen years. Vučić fell Sunday after fourteen. Brazil kept Trump’s man out. Three ballots in one year on the same model — Putin’s endorsement, Trump’s friendship, the courts and the broadcaster in one set of hands — and the model lost all three.

Israel votes next. The United States votes November 3. Zev’s note to the chat as the Brazil numbers settled: the tactic that showed up in São Paulo Sunday — the buses that didn’t run — travels. “Plan extra hours when you go to the polls on the 3rd.”

Trump phoned Lula before the vote and wished him luck. His State Department declined, in writing, to say it would respect the result. Now it has one.

MACHADO RETURNS TO A VENEZUELA WITHOUT FREE ELECTIONS — AND TRUMP HAS ALREADY TAKEN THE OIL

María Corina Machado, Venezuela's opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace laureate, reappeared inside Venezuela on Sunday morning after more than ten months in exile and seven failed attempts to get home, posting on X: "I am here. With you."

The Washington Post placed her at the Santa Rosa Church in Lara state, west of Caracas. She gave no details on how she entered. Edmundo González, the opposition candidate whose 2024 tally sheets showed he beat Nicolás Maduro, posted that he would be at her side "very soon."

Machado left Venezuela in December to collect the Nobel in Oslo. On January 3, Delta Force seized Maduro and flew him to the USS Iwo Jima. Trump said the same day: "We're going to run the country." Narativ reported on January 4 that the deal taking shape sold out Venezuela's democratic aspirations for an oil arrangement.

Trump has a case on Venezuela. Maduro is gone. Delcy Rodríguez's interim government has freed hundreds of political prisoners and reopened the country to US companies. And the most popular politician in Venezuela — the polls still say so — could finally come home.

To the victor go the spoils. The ledger, ten months on: on January 7, Trump announced Venezuela would hand over 30 to 50 million barrels of oil, with revenue controlled "by me, as President of the United States." The Energy Department sold the first cargo a week later for $500 million. On August 28 he announced "THE BIGGEST OIL DEAL IN WORLD HISTORY": majority US control of more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan reserves, 25 years, 17 fields. He did not disclose the terms. Rodríguez did: $19 from every barrel sold to the United States goes back to Caracas. She called it sovereignty.

Rodríguez is Maduro's former vice president. In Trump's August post she is the "Highly Respected Interim President" who worked with Rubio and Hegseth, "at my direction," to secure the fields. The Associated Press reports she has exceeded the term she was authorized to serve as acting president. She has set no election date. Trump's press secretary said in January he hopes to see Venezuelan elections "one day." Her supporters marched in Caracas on Thursday demanding one.

Machado's advisers say the government closed the airspace to her. In late September, while Rodríguez was at the UN in New York, her government refused Machado entry three times in one day, her team says. Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied this month that Washington blocked her return. Rodríguez warned earlier this year that Machado "will have to answer before Venezuela" if she came back.

Now she is back, and Rodríguez has a decision: arrest the country's most popular politician, or name a date. Her return also hands Trump a win nine days before Americans vote — the Nobel laureate who gave him her medal is home, and he announced the oil deal with gas prices rising toward the same election. It is hardly a return to democracy. Venezuela has its laureate home and still has no date to vote.

Machado gave Trump her Nobel medal in January. Trump took the oil. She came home for the vote.

5️⃣ Trump Scolds the Reporter Who Asked About Acton’s Abuse

Trump defended Vivek Ramaswamy's ad on Friday and called the NBC reporter who asked about Amy Acton's childhood abuse "a horrible little reporter." The ad is Acton's estranged mother calling her a liar. Trump's answer to the abuse question: "Why shouldn't somebody use that?" Dean Blundell's read: the mother stayed with the husband indicted for abusing Acton, so the ad is the abuse continuing. Zev Shalev's: a president telling Ohio to trust that mother has never told the truth about his own years beside Jeffrey Epstein.

4️⃣ Oil Hits $115 and Trump Floats Taking Iran’s

Oil hit $115 after Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they had put seven tankers out of action near the Strait of Hormuz, and Trump's ambassador to the United Nations would not rule out another year of war. Trump, asked about gridlock in Congress, answered about Iran: "We could, if we wanted to, just take all of the oil. We could take the whole country." Blundell: you do not lose seven tankers in a day in a strait you own. Shalev is watching Saudi Arabia, where the Houthis are hitting Riyadh and American bases have emptied.

3️⃣ Trump Calls Kushner’s $2 Billion Gulf Accounts “a False Story”

Trump called Matthew Cole's book "a false story." Princes and Thieves, in Vanity Fair, says the rulers of the Emirates and Saudi Arabia put about $2 billion within Jared Kushner's reach, about $1 billion of it at Israel's central bank with Benjamin Netanyahu overseeing the account. Kushner says none of it happened and will sue. Blundell: the Dutch watched the Russians read Kushner's phone. Shalev: the last man who kept that kind of money under Israeli intelligence's protection was Robert Maxwell, and the question is who Kushner works for.

2️⃣ DOJ Moves to Block Alaska’s Count if Sullivan Loses

The Justice Department sued Alaska on Friday to stop the state certifying its Senate race if Dan Sullivan loses, over a second Dan Sullivan on the ballot. Blundell: Trump fought the second Sullivan's name before and lost, Democrat Mary Peltola is ahead, and suing over a result before the vote is admitting you expect to lose. Shalev: Todd Blanche said Thursday the department can block a state's count, and every race they lose will now go to a judge.

1️⃣ Trump Denies Calling Musk as Ukraine’s Starlink Cap Stays On

Trump said Friday he has not spoken to Elon Musk about Ukraine's Starlink. The New York Times and Wall Street Journal reported he phoned Musk on Wednesday to ask him to lift the cap, and Ukraine says the cap is still on: the military terminals have dropped out at 161 kilometers an hour. Asked who ordered it, Trump said, "I wouldn't tell you if I did know." Shalev: both answer to Vladimir Putin, and the $400 million Musk has put into Republican races is the same money. Blundell: the blame game buys Russia time, and the cap stays until Congress can stop it.

Russia Is Sinking Ships To Provoke a NATO Reaction

A Russian drone sank the cargo ship Khoryv 13 miles off Constanța, Romania, on Friday morning. One sailor dead, three missing. Olga Lautman counts seven ships hit in the Black Sea in two weeks and 31 sailors dead or missing. "This used to start world wars," she said on Narativ Live. Europe is shifting forces to the Black Sea, she said. It is barely news. Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria have asked NATO to guard the lanes; Zev Shalev called it an act of war and NATO's job, pending an American sign-off.

On Starlink, four views. Lautman's view: Starshield, the military version, sits on a Pentagon contract Europe pays for, so the order came from Trump to the Pentagon and nobody needed Musk. "This is on Trump. This is not Musk." Lev Parnas said the question is the trick. "Who cares if it's Musk, Trump. The bottom line, it's not working." Oleksandr Bolbirer, who writes Voice of Ukraine from Kyiv, said some units have service back and some do not. "On top, it's sunshine. If you look on the bottom, there's still some fog out there." Shalev's point: whoever flipped the switch, Ukraine's drones have flown blind for nine days, while Jared Kushner told Zelensky not to hit refineries.

They split again on why Russia is hitting Kyiv so hard now. Bolbirer thinks Moscow is sprinting before the American vote: "They're not going to have as many chances as they have today." Lautman disagreed flat. Russia's turn on Kyiv began the day Trump took office, she said, and "the Russians don't give a flying shit about American elections." Shalev read both as one argument: Russia moves when American power changes hands, and it does in 12 days. Parnas called Bolbirer's view "Ukrainian hope." Nobody disputed the rest: cluster munitions over Kyiv, eight regions' power stations hit in 24 hours, a heating season begun on the 15th with the pipes still cold, Bolbirer's daughter barely in school. "They are erasing us," Bolbirer said. "But we want to live."

On Nov. 3, Parnas says his sources have Trump and Speaker Johnson agreeing not to convene the new Congress, "almost a done deal." Lautman expects Democrats to be seated, by an uprising in American streets if need be, and then expects little: a subpoena to Musk goes nowhere without a Justice Department to enforce it.

What comes after splits them too. Lautman: the Trump–Xi meeting on the 18th produces nothing, Putin is China's client, and no one can sign away Ukrainian land without a referendum. Bolbirer: dictators do not read rules, and if the big powers sit down together, "who's going to come in?" Parnas: the next front is energy, Russian gas back to fill the hole Iran's strikes on Qatar opened, and he does not trust Germany or France through a winter. Lautman trusts the eastern flank whatever Germany does. Shalev: it is one movement, capturing democracies one at a time, and what Bolbirer lives under could reach America in months; a big enough vote on Nov. 3 is the first answer, and Trump cannot face Xi for a country that just voted against him.

Trump called Musk on Wednesday and asked him to lift the limits on Ukraine's Starlink. Musk left them on. The New York Times and Wall Street Journal both reported the call. On Thursday Trump told reporters he would not say whether he phoned, "or whether somebody else called, it doesn't make a difference," and then said what the call was for: "The bottom line, he put it back." A week earlier he had said it "wasn't me" and he didn't "think it was Elon." Kyiv says he put nothing back. "Overall, nothing has changed anywhere," a Ukrainian official told the Kyiv Independent on Wednesday night. The cap SpaceX dropped on Ukraine's military terminals on Oct. 14 still holds at 161 km/h, about 100 mph. The interceptor drones Ukraine flies at Russian Shaheds go faster than that. Narativ reported Oct. 21 that Musk gave the order.

💰 KUSHNER'S BILLIONS

Jared Kushner says the accounts never existed. A new book says Dutch spies watched him log in. Vanity Fair ran an excerpt of Matthew Cole's book, Princes and Thieves, on Thursday. Mohamed bin Zayed, who runs the United Arab Emirates, and Mohammed bin Salman, who runs Saudi Arabia, put money into accounts in other people's names, the book says. One sat at First Abu Dhabi Bank in the name of an Emirati charity, the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, and took in about $750 million.

🗳️ THE RIG, 11 DAYS

Trump said Thursday that "she's fair game." Amy Acton is the Democrat running for governor of Ohio, and the ad in question is her own mother's. Donna Arthur looks into the camera and talks about her daughter. "Amy has a serious problem," she says. "She lies about her past." "My daughter needs help, and she can't help you if she needs help herself."

🛢️ THE WAR BILL

Mike Waltz would not rule out another year of the Iran war on Friday morning. Oil hit $115 the same morning. Trump's ambassador to the UN gave the Financial Times an answer the paper read as another year of war. "I'm not going to put out hypotheticals," he said. Trump said at the start it would take four to five weeks.

🕵️ THE MEMO

Start with what everyone remembers. In July 2025 the Justice Department and the FBI put out a short memo and told the country the Epstein story was over. No client list. No blackmail.

What is impossible to miss in today's stories is the unprecedented reach of foreign governments and their sovereign funds into America's national interest. You cannot understand how Elon Musk, a man who answers to shareholders, can run around the world and, with his relationship with Putin, be allowed to direct a national resource on a battlefield. There is nothing here that looks even remotely like patriotism. It is the exact opposite: a man working for his own interest and the interest of a foreign government, an adversary at that, against our allies. Trump can play the “he said, he said” game as long as he wants. We all know these two are working in concert with Vladimir Putin and Russia, so the blame game we are watching is nothing more than theater. The truth is the switch is off because it suits them, not because of anything in our national interest, and now they blame each other and hope the whole thing disappears in the crossfire. You can see the same thing in the Kushner controversy: how is a man negotiating war and peace on behalf of the American people is also holding down a $2 billion payout from Saudi Arabia secured by Israel? The Grift Clock keeps running, billions being taken from the American government, and a scandal as big as Epstein's now crashes against the door of the Oval Office. That was Wednesday night. By Friday morning nothing had moved. "Overall, there's no change anywhere," a senior Ukrainian official told the Kyiv Independent, and a Ukrainian intelligence official put it shorter: "Starshield still doesn't work." Trump, leaving the White House on Friday, said he had not spoken to Musk about it and would if he had to. "If there's a problem, I will get it straightened out."

Here is the machine. SpaceX owns the satellites. The Pentagon pays for Ukraine's military version, Starshield. Musk says the Pentagon and "ultimately POTUS" set the speed. Hegseth says the terms of service set it. The president says he asked. The switch stayed where Musk put it.

The Epstein Cover-Up Reaches The Oval Office

Start with what everyone remembers. In July 2025 the Justice Department and the FBI put out a short memo and told the country the Epstein story was over. No client list. No blackmail. Nobody else to investigate, nothing more to release. Nobody signed it, which seemed odd at the time and seems less odd this morning.

Because two months before that memo, in May, Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche had told Trump his name was in the files. A Wall Street Journal report said so in July. So the memo that said there was nothing to see was written by people who already knew what there was to see, and that it was the president.

Some of this was known. In August 2025 CNN reported that JD Vance gathered Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and others at the White House for a dinner on the Epstein case and the need for a "unified response"; Vance's office denied any such meeting. The New York Times reported this June on a later session in the White House Situation Room, with Susie Wiles, Blanche, the press office and Taylor Budowich, Trump's deputy chief of staff, in the room and Bondi and Patel on the phone, where Vance pushed to release the Epstein estate's files before Congress did it for them.

What nobody knew until this morning is who held the pen on the memo.

Accused Sexual Predator Trump Says Abuse Ads Are Fair Game For Amy Acton In Ohio

Trump said Thursday that "she's fair game." Amy Acton is the Democrat running for governor of Ohio, and the ad in question is her own mother's.

Here is the ad.

An Ohio political blogger posted it Monday night after a voter recorded it inside a survey, and Donald Trump Jr. shared it. On Tuesday Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican running against Acton, told reporters, "It is an ad from our campaign," and said he would spend $4 million putting it on Ohio television. Ramaswamy was losing when the ad went up. Marist polled Ohio from Oct. 15 to 18, the four days before the video surfaced, and had Acton at 50% to his 43% among likely voters, 53% to 34% among independents.

Donna Arthur does not say why she and her daughter have not spoken.

14. Trump lifted sanctions on Milorad Dodik last October. Dodik's republic now pays the law firm that employs Susie Wiles' daughter $35,000 a month. Why it matters: a Putin ally bought his way off the Treasury list, and the check came to the family of the White House Chief of Staff.

15. The FBI was looking at a 2020 steak dinner where Navatek's CEO says Lindsey Graham asked for $100,000 against a $10 million Navy contract. Trump's purge removed both agents, and the prosecutor quit. Why it matters: nobody is left to open the file.

16. Julio Herrera Velutini's daughter signed Alina Habba for more than $50 million. Two weeks after she started, Trump pardoned him. Habba calls any link to the pardon "false." Why it matters: a pardon now comes with a contract.

17. The Washington Post got the ballroom donor list: $333 million, Nvidia and Apple at $25 million each, $77 million anonymous. Nvidia signed on three months after Trump let it sell chips to China. Why it matters: the money ends in an account the president controls.

Mike Waltz would not rule out another year of the Iran war on Friday morning as oil spiked to $115.

Trump's ambassador to the UN gave the Financial Times an answer the paper read as another year of war. "I'm not going to put out hypotheticals," he said. "One would hope that they'll come to the table in a meaningful way before that." Trump said at the start it would take four to five weeks. Waltz added that the president "and the U.S. Navy can maintain this blockade for the foreseeable future."

Brent crossed $114 a barrel on Friday, after Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they had put seven tankers out of action near the Strait of Hormuz, four hit on the route the U.S. Navy vouches for and three on mines. Nobody outside Iran has confirmed one. The FT put the day's high at $115, the first time since May. Iranian state TV then said every "non-compliant" ship in the strait was "completely halted."

Trump answered Thursday night on Truth Social. "Iran is doing everything they can to drive up the price of Oil prior to the U.S. Midterm Election," he wrote. "They are even making up fake hits, mines, and everything else." He has told voters the price comes down after the election.

The traders disagree.

Putin freed Stephen Hubbard, a 74-year-old Michigan teacher, and Trump told the reporter who asked what it cost, "Are you a stupid person?" The night before, stepping off his plane, Trump had answered the question himself: "everyone thinks I did the right thing because we're able to get a great person back." The sanctions he lifted last week were the ones Lindsey Graham wrote.

5️⃣ Three men say Lindsey Graham paid them for sex, and the film can't put him in the room.

The Young Turks and a group called Swamp Watch put three men on camera, first names only, who say Graham paid them in 2001, 2012, 2014 and 2015. Kelvin says he was 17. The receipts are train tickets, a Lyft, a roll call and a newspaper: they put Kelvin, Jesse, Cory and Graham in the same cities and never in the same room. No outlet has confirmed a word. The Graham family did not answer. His sister, Sen. Darline Graham Nordone, said she would not entertain the question, 12 days before her election.

4️⃣ Trump lifted Lindsey Graham's sanctions, and the receipt is one teacher.

Graham's last bill punished the countries that buy Russian oil. Trump signed it, waived it so Russian diesel could move, then asked Putin by phone to free Hubbard. On the plane he said the sanctions got Hubbard out. By morning the reporter was stupid. Russia got the world's oil market back for one retired teacher, and Nordone, in her brother's seat, said nothing.

3️⃣ Witkoff told Putin he is a humanitarian, and Kyiv burned that night.

Steve Witkoff said it in the room: "You are a humanitarian also, sir. And I salute that." Russian troops took Hubbard in Izium, in Ukraine, and gave him nearly seven years as a mercenary. Hours after the salute, Russia hit Kyiv with missiles and 210 drones. No American government has dropped sanctions on a country mid-war for one prisoner. Witkoff, Kushner and the Trump family stand to be paid when the sanctions go, and Ukraine is the chip.

2️⃣ Blanche won't rule out blocking a state's count, and says he works for Trump.

Todd Blanche, asked whether the Justice Department would ever try to stop a state certifying its election: "Yes, of course, there's scenarios that we could all come up with hypothetically, some doomsday scenario." Asked about independence from the White House: "I work for President Trump." The suppression is in the courts now. The day itself comes next, then the lawsuits that keep results unsettled while the Iran strike planned for after Nov. 3 gives the country something else to watch.

1️⃣ Russia is working Texas for Paxton, beside Musk's money.

A Kremlin crew posted a fake video on Tuesday accusing James Talarico of abusing a student: a stolen name, a month's wait, a talking face, 15 bots, half a million views. Graphika says with high confidence that Storm-1516, the crew that ran the same story against Tim Walz in 2024, made it. Elon Musk put $158 million into the Senate GOP fund, most of it bound for Paxton. Narativ reported Musk's line to Putin in 2024, and the Times has caught up. Russia is not threatening this election. It is in it.

🇷🇺 THE RUSSIANS ARE HERE

Russia stopped threatening American elections this week and started working one. A Kremlin propaganda crew posted a fake video on Tuesday accusing James Talarico of abusing a student, in the Texas Senate race Elon Musk is paying for. Someone built an X account in September under a real man's stolen name and photo, waited a month, then posted a talking face: a former student telling the camera that his sixth-grade English teacher in San Antonio assaulted him in 2012. The teacher he named is Talarico. Fifteen bots shared it at once, a right-wing account with 185,000 followers picked it up, and by Wednesday it had more than 500,000 views. San Antonio police have no report. The real man whose face was stolen told Lead Stories the person in the video was "not me." Graphika, which tracks these operations, said on Wednesday with high confidence that the Kremlin crew that ran the same story against Tim Walz in 2024, Storm-1516, made it. Musk's money arrived first.

🇷🇺 PUTIN'S RECEIPT

Steve Witkoff sat three hours with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg on Wednesday and called him a humanitarian. By nightfall Russia was hitting Kyiv. Putin gave one man. Stephen Hubbard, 74, a former teacher, had been jailed in Russia since 2022 on a sentence of nearly seven years for allegedly fighting for Ukraine. He reportedly pleaded guilty. His sister told Reuters he held pro-Russian views and would never have picked up a rifle at his age. Witkoff answered: "You, too, are a humanitarian, sir, and I commend you for that." Trump wrote that there was no swap and the United States gave nothing in return. The giving came earlier.

🇮🇱 THE WAR DATE

Benjamin Netanyahu told his army Wednesday night to bring down the government of Iran. He will face voters on Tuesday. "There is only one way to remove this threat once and for all: overthrow the regime in Iran," he told a graduating class of officers. The job has a date, and it is not Netanyahu's. The Times reported Wednesday that the U.S. and Israeli militaries have drawn up plans for a short, heavy round of strikes on Iran after the American midterms on Nov. 3: energy sites, nuclear sites, the missile and drone stocks.

🗳️ UNDER ATTACK

Trump's government spent the week going after Democrats one at a time, and a federal judge had to stop the door-knockers. The targets are all on one side. Since September, Homeland Security Investigations agents have turned up at homes in nine states and asked whoever answered whether they are a citizen and whether they voted. No federal database says who is a citizen. The agents knocked anyway.

🏚 ZORRO

Raúl Torrez sued Jeffrey Epstein's lawyer and his accountant on Wednesday. The Justice Department won't help him. Torrez is New Mexico's attorney general. The proof he needs sits in the Justice Department's files, and the department is keeping it. It has brought no charges from the millions of pages it released.

🌊 THE OCEAN

Trump called Sundar Pichai and asked for the Atlantic Ocean. Pichai said no. Google had said yes to him twice before, and the reason it stopped at three is the whole story.
