Growing Pressure For A Ceasefire In Gaza

The US is under growing pressure to find a diplomatic solution as Israel's ground assault on Southern Gaza portends a humanitarian crisis.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Vice President Kamala Harris visited the region with calls for a two-state solution, but their proposal was drowned out by Israel continuing a massive ground assault on Southern Gaza. Israel’s war cabinet says the ground assault will lead to Hamas capitulation on the remaining hostages including 8 US hostages.

Hamas abruptly ended the fragile ceasefire talks that resulted in 120 hostages being released over four days.

Its still unclear why Hamas withdrew from the talks but there are signs Vladimir Putin had reached a separate understanding with the terror group. Hamas credited their friendship with Putin for the release of 3 Russian-Israeli hostages last week.
