Iran fired missiles and drones at American bases in four countries Wednesday morning — and the week's attacks match a list a Revolutionary Guard general read out on American television three weeks ago. "America has thousands of economic interests throughout the world, and all of them can be easily destroyed," Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi, top adviser to the Guard's commander, told PBS NewsHour from Tehran on August 11. He promised Iran would grow "even more dangerous" if its missiles ever ran out. Iran is now working through the list.

Jordan's military said it downed 10 of 13 Iranian missiles. Kuwait said an Iranian drone set fire to a residential complex near the Ali Al Salem airbase, which hosts US troops. Bahrain, home of the US Navy's regional headquarters, said its defenses "repelled, intercepted and destroyed" a wave of attacks. The Revolutionary Guard claimed American dead in Jordan and Erbil; American officials told Reuters there were none.
Trump's warplanes hit more than Guard radar and mine-laying sites overnight. The Iranian Red Crescent said one US missile hit a wedding in Sirik county, killing at least four people, two of them children aged four and 16, and asked the International Criminal Court on Wednesday to investigate. The US military said it "never targets civilians."
Naqdi's "economic interests" sit closer to home than Hormuz. Iranian hackers targeted US water systems, telecommunications, energy and other infrastructure in recent weeks, NBC News reported Wednesday morning, citing four people with access to government and industry information about cyberthreats. The hackers have so far failed, and an Iranian hacking group warned that "unexpected and critical events" would soon hit American infrastructure. CISA warned in July that Iranian-linked hackers were probing the internet-connected devices that run it.
