Saudis Shut Their Oil Pipeline, Trump Says Houthis "Called Us"
Trump stood in Dublin Saturday and read out the Houthis’ message as good news. "The Houthis called us and they don’t want to fight with us," he said. "They don’t want me to go after them." Saudi Arabia had just shut its East-West pipeline, its crude’s road to the Red Sea — twice as busy since the war began, the IEA says — carrying 4 to 5 percent of the world’s oil. Drones hit it Thursday morning. Iraq admitted they flew from Maysan province and fired the commander. The Saudis chose not to retaliate. Trump said Iran was "probably" behind it, had spoken with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and promised the war ends "right after the mid-terms, actually," when oil "will come tumbling down." At the Pentagon Friday he told the 9/11 families: "That’s why we fight today." Diesel topped $6 the same day. Gulf officials meet Iran in Oman Monday; Tehran says no deal to sign. The Houthis, who now hold Yemen’s Red Sea coast, are not waiting for one.

Yemen Missile Cell Used Claude To Build Weapons
Dario Amodei, Anthropic’s CEO, wrote Saturday: "We must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models." Two days earlier his company reported a missile cell in northern Yemen — territory the Houthis hold — used Claude Code "in place of human software engineers" to write guidance software for a rocket, a ballistic missile and a hypersonic variant. They test-fired the rocket. It failed. It also found an Iran-linked actor building "targeting recommendations against US naval forces" and a Russian drone that picks its own targets. Trump, asked Friday about AI: "I don’t have any."

Trump had the Dallas arena raise right hands Thursday and repeat, as Roll Call transcribed it: "I don’t care if I’m registered or not. I’m gonna try and cheat like hell like they do." The night before, his 9/11 proclamation named enemies "from among us within our borders." His Justice Department ordered 30 states to preserve their 2024 election records, Democracy Docket reported; Denver is suing to keep armed federal agents from its polls. Fifty-two days.

Blanche Times His Secret Terror Court For 9/11
Attorney General Todd Blanche announced on 9/11 he had deported Nazira Haji Zada, an Afghan green-card holder never charged with a crime, through a 1996 terror court nobody had ever used. She agreed to go August 20; DOJ flew her out August 25; nobody tested the evidence. Blanche told Fox, CNN reported: "we’re going to do this more often."
