Trump opens what he calls a 32-day campaign blitz on Thursday in Denton, Texas, and Durant, Oklahoma, as two separate national polls put his approval on the economy at 26 percent.

The American Research Group found 26 percent of Americans approve of his handling of the economy and 71 percent disapprove, in a survey of 1,100 adults fielded September 16 to 20 and released September 21. AP-NORC landed on the same 26 percent in a poll of 2,140 adults taken September 24 to 28, a new low. Seventeen percent approve of how he handles the cost of living, and 65 percent blame his policies for high prices over anything outside his control. Quinnipiac, polling 1,032 registered voters September 24 to 27, had him at 31 percent on the economy, the lowest of either term, and 61 percent disapproval overall, matching the record he set in January 2021.

After Durant on Thursday evening he goes to Mobile, Alabama, on Friday, Vandalia, Ohio, on Saturday and Grand Island, Nebraska, on Monday. He won Oklahoma by 34 points in 2024, Alabama by 31 and Nebraska by 21. Durant sits 350 miles from the nearest toss-up House seat and Mobile 450 miles from its nearest, an analyst at the University of Virginia's Center for Politics told HuffPost.

Weeks ago, at a rally in Dallas, he promised something different: "I'm going to go to every one of those states for congressmen and senators." The first week of the tour goes almost nowhere a seat is in doubt.

So who is standing next to him this week, and who has found somewhere else to be?
