Raúl Torrez sued Jeffrey Epstein's lawyer and his accountant on Wednesday. The Justice Department won't help him.
Torrez is New Mexico's attorney general. His suit says Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn set up the companies, moved the money and hid the operation that brought girls and young women to Zorro Ranch outside Santa Fe. Indyke, the suit says, arranged payments to survivors to "purchase their silence" and handled the 2011 transfer of the ranch's title into an Epstein company. Both men run Epstein's estate, have already made tens of millions from him, the suit says, and stand to collect more from a trust worth more than $100 million. Torrez wants a court to stop that. "It is unconscionable in my mind that people who actively participated in the efforts of that trafficking enterprise, that they should in any way benefit from what is left of his estate," he said. The proof he needs sits in the Justice Department's files, and the department is keeping it.
