BREAKING: Trump Diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency
White House releases medical details after visible bruising, leg swelling
President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency following recent concerns about bruising on his hands and swelling in his legs, the White House announced Thursday.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt disclosed the medical findings during the daily briefing, reading from a physician's note that detailed Trump's recent health evaluation by the White House Medical Unit.
Trump underwent multiple tests including ultrasounds after noting mild swelling in his lower legs over recent weeks. The diagnostic workup revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood circulation that Leavitt described as "benign and common, particularly in individuals over the age of 70."
Medical tests ruled out more serious conditions. Trump showed no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease, according to the physician's assessment. Blood work and an echocardiogram returned normal results.
