Campus Chaos: Outside Agitators are Hijacking Campus Protests
In an election year rife with foreign meddling, a troubling pattern emerges.
The recent campus protests against Israel's war on Gaza following the October 7 attacks have disrupted universities, caused extensive damage, blocked students' movement, and interfered with exams. While many well-intentioned students are participating, the level of coordination and destructive tactics suggest these are more than organic student demonstrations.
There are numerous credible reports of outside agitators, potentially including foreign actors, infiltrating the protests to foment unrest and push unreasonable demands along with disinformation. Calls to divest from Israel overlook that it is the region's sole democracy, and such actions could indiscriminately harm average Israelis, many of whom are also protesting Prime Minister Netanyahu's controversial government.
Since universities often have academic ties with Israeli institutions that tend to be liberal, severing those relationships as protesters demand would negatively impact like-minded Israelis while doing nothing to change the Netanyahu administration's stance. The aggressive, disruptive nature of the protests, along with some protesters' apparent pro-Hamas alignment, is troubling and counterproductive.
Meanwhile, the anti-Biden sentiment expressed by protesters is misplaced, especially considering the president's criticisms of Netanyahu's handling of the recent conflict and Secretary of State Blinken's intense diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire.
In an election year already awash with disinformation from hostile foreign powers seeking to destabilize the US, these campus disruptions appear suspiciously well-coordinated and risk dangerously escalating polarization. While peaceful protest is a fundamental right, breaking into buildings, causing damage, and destructive behavior impeding other citizens' basic freedoms are not.
University administrators, in coordination with law enforcement, should take steps to maintain campus safety and stability while protecting peaceful protest. Administrators must also engage in proactive outreach to promote open and respectful dialogue. By engaging in good faith to address legitimate concerns while maintaining a secure environment for the exchange of ideas, universities can play a vital role in de-escalating tensions and modeling democratic values.
Dear Loyal Subscribers,
As we approach the crucial November elections, I find myself in a difficult position. Since 2016, I have been at the forefront of uncovering the truth, no matter how controversial or challenging the story may be.
In recent months, I exposed Russia’s GRU role how in the Hunter Biden investigation months before Alex Smirnov was arrested for false statements.
Narativ's coverage of October 7 has consistently focused on Benjamin Netanyahu, helping distinguish between Israel's actions and Netanyahu's agenda.
I revealed Mike Johnson’s ties to Russian oligarchs with intelligence connections and whether they influenced his stonewalling on the Ukraine aid bill.
Eight years of investigating Trump has informed my coverage of the Trump Trials.
We've had access to phenomenal guests, including Denver Riggleman, Steve Schmidt, Rachel Bitecofer, Tristan Snell, and Rick Petree.
This dedication to the truth has made me a constant target of suppression efforts and unfounded whisper campaigns to discredit my work. This has severely dented my finances, and with fewer than 400 paid subscribers, I need more resources to continue my vital work.
Despite these challenges, I have refused to compromise my integrity or the quality of my reporting. You deserve nothing less than the unvarnished truth, especially as we approach the critical November elections. That's why I've kept going and want to keep going.
I won't let you down, but I need your help.
