Sen.-elect James Talarico told Fox News on Wednesday that "the people of Texas did not elect me last night for retribution." Lev Parnas said Democrats now walk a fine line: "There has to be accountability, but you cannot cross the line and go into retribution and be like them." Parnas named Talarico and Annie Andrews, the pediatrician who won South Carolina, as the new faces to watch. Anne P. Mitchell said Texas, Trump's state, "gave him a big middle finger."

Zev Shalev said the flipped state legislatures may matter more than Congress. Washington faces gridlock, and the right fed its laws and lawsuits to the Supreme Court through the states for years. Mitchell pointed to Montana, where voters had a measure to cut off corporate election spending on Tuesday's ballot.
