We missed the twosome. We are in Alaska and just dreading the “summit” here. It’s so insulting that he’s announcing his status as a Russian agent and showing up for Putin in the United States. People are sick of this shit and it’s not going to be allowed.

Every time I see a homeless person, I think, “There but for Grace go I—or anyone except the billionaire & gazillionaire class—given enough hard knocks in life, given a serious illness, given a lack of social support”. Medical bankruptcy is all too common—too often Medicare Advantage (one example) plans refuse legitimate claims (they’re all about shareholder value), & too often a person already fragile & overwhelmed from fighting serious illness lacks the wherewithal to fight back against their insurance who has denied them the coverage to which they are entitled. This is only one of many things that can lead to homelessness. High apartment rents, loss of a job—and as you wrote, trauma, which is more common than most realize & way under recognized & under treated—all can lead to homelessness. This makes me sick, as I’m sure it does any decent compassionate human being. I fear we as a society are losing our ability to empathize & care for others—and if we continue down that road, we are lost.

Wonder what the daily cost of this takeover of DC law enforcement is costing the taxpayer and how we find out.

Zev & Dean, question for you both, please.

I’ve been reading that PM Mark Carney increased our holdings of US Treasuries by roughly $70 - $75B in spring.

Is it possible for you to find out if that’s true and if it is, why we would sink more money into the US during the time of the “elbows up” campaign?

Thank you in advance.

I’m sailing around the world rn and meeting both fellow tourists and locals in countries starting in Panama, across the pacific, currently in Australia and I have been shocked at the number of trump supporters we have met. The vast majority of fellow tourists despise trump but thus far in Panama (in January when trump was at the height of talking about taking over Panama!), to french polynesian local tour guide in love with how trump does what he wants regardless of the law, to Australian tour guide on whom I nearly lost my shit so didn’t get into the details of why - but he was enamored with US giant gas guzzling pick up trucks, counter to Australian environmental restrictions, there are plenty of horrific trump lovers. I even saw trump flags flying in french polynesia.

We will never truly understand these folks, but I believe they all have a few things in common; prejudice and the fear and lack of any understanding of the diversity in this country. Fear of the USA not being all white, straight and Christian. This is how they grew up from the failings of their parents. These are the ones who still think he is the best thing for this country and will follow him to the end. No one will ever change their minds. Even if they end up with no healthcare, jobs or can afford medication or food. They will always blame 'the others". Sad and scary.

Of the three i mentioned, only one was white, all were men. I think misogyny has a lot to do with their love of trump.

Epstein files are still on the top burner. There are 2 FOIA suits going on. One is by Mueller She Wrote (Allison Gill) on getting the FBI training tapes. The second is FOIA suit by Democracy Forward, an organization with a excellent team of lawyers who have been involved in many suits, including birthright citizenship. They're suing on the entire files, including all documents & communications, including DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN TRUMP & EPSTEIN!

Carney should beware because they're not carving up Ukraine, Putin & Trump are carving up the Arctic & Canada has the longest stretch of the Arctic. Putin never was a believer in climate change. He wants to thaw the permafrost as fast as possible. Russia is a vast cold wasteland. He invaded Ukraine because it's the breadbasket of Europe & then there's the rare minerals. That's all they want to do is rape the land they invade. Trump can't give away shit. Congress would have to approve. All Putin wants is to take Ukraine, Baltics & Poland. Europe will be financing Ukraine militarily, bc trump refuses to do it. Europe is building its energy forces & has instituted sanctions on Russia.

Of course the mainstream media in the US has their directive. Still alive on Substack. Congress is going to interview victims in DC the first week of September 🙂

Last week we were touring Skagway, AK. Our guide pointed out the new town fire station and told us the building cost over $8 million to build. That's more than the US paid for the whole state back in the mid 1800's!
