Again, the legacy media isn't pointing out how much of an idiot Hegseth sounds when he claims he couldn't see the surviving fishermen clinging to the flotsam due to the fog of war. He sounds like he thinks it's some sort of visual impairment due to smoke. It's a state of uncertainty and heightened emotional stress due to the speed of incoming data and the questionable nature of the data. If he, standing somewhere quite distant from the explosions and quite safe, was prey to the fog of war, then he has no business giving life and death orders to anyone. If he doesn't even know the meaning of the term then he reveals his ignorance of military history and philosophy. As Linda Weide says in these comments, Hegseth sounds as if he thought it was all a video game and a quite exciting one at that.
But why? Why do a warning shot at all? Unless you wanted trump to do something horrific or stupid (and he already does plenty of those) why not just hit them with everything you've got all at once with no warning, no ability to think up excuses or contact and threaten people and so forth? What possible purpose does a warning shot serve unless you are intending to withhold portions in exchange for something and need to provide proof of value?
I know. My instant take on the "dentist" room was plastic surgery. I watched a dermatological surgeon remove a cancerous section of forearm skin once in a chair just like that (I was allowed to be present at the request of the patient) so they're really not just for dentists... but that mask! Can you imagine saying "yes! That one! Give me that nose!" I suspect the masks were more of a bit of sly humor in a place where faces received a bit of... adjustment.
There are people who can't sing. My grandfather used to just smile gently rather than pretend and move his lips. My father was told "everyone can sing" so he genuinely tried in order to show them and they said "gosh you're right - some people can't sing"! Lev uses such wonderful and melodious emphases in his speech it's surprising he has a tonal dyslexia.
