The White House claims Russia's exemption is because existing sanctions "preclude meaningful trade." That's true for Belarus, North Korea and Cuba – but Russia? Their $3.5 billion in US trade (down from $35 billion pre-Ukraine invasion) still dwarfs countries like Mauritius and Brunei, both hit with the full tariff package.
And a Tariff pass isn’t the only sanction relief Trump is giving Putin.
