Robert Reich just warned all us, his substack subscribers, that Trump/Vought/Vance/Miller are setting up their literally trumped up War-on-Cities in blue states so as to invoke The Insurrection Act. Reich thinks this is planned and imminent. That Act enables the President to take over and direct the National Guard in all states. Texas' MAGA Republican Gov. Abbott has agreed to send 400 Texas National Guard troops to Oregon and Illinois, at Trump's request. I foresee that the No Kings Demos on Oct. 18th across the US as being in great danger...Trump will use them as a pretext, if one is still needed, to provoke riots...and then indeed to invoke the Insurrection Act.
I am thinking the safest way to protest may be to be in relatively small groups scattered all over cities, perhaps at least 6 people and no more than 20. As people go through the city (at least along some popular routes), they would see small protest group after small protest group, on and on. The impression would be that people are protesting everywhere. The groups might be in visual contact with each other but far enough away from each other that it would be hard for Trump's militia to round up, tear gas, fire rubber bullets, etc. at very many. They wouldn't know how to corral a big group of people if there were no big groups of people. It would also be easier to scatter if necessary if not in a big crowd. (Might simply parking too.)
