💰 THE BOND MARKET REVOLTS
Bond markets on three continents hit multi-decade marks Tuesday morning. The 30-year Treasury opened September in its worst run above 5 percent since 2006. Japan paid 3 percent to borrow for ten years, the first time since 1996. Britain paid the most since 1998, France the most since its 2011 debt crisis. For months investors held long-term bonds on one belief: the Federal Reserve's next move was a cut. That belief broke overnight, when American and Iranian forces traded fire over the Strait of Hormuz, Brent crude passed $91, and futures markets went from 40 percent odds of a September hike to 68 in a week. "It's a genuine regime change," a TD Securities strategist said. Next comes higher interest on everything the US, Japan and Britain owe — and a harder question. The policies driving the selloff are Donald Trump's. So is the $1.4 billion a year he earns in crypto, the asset sold as the dollar's replacement.
🤝 RUSSIA TAKES THE SEAT, EUROPE LEAVES THE PHOTO
Anton Siluanov took Russia's seat at the G20 finance table in Asheville on Monday — and Europe's ministers refused to stand in the photograph with him. The group photo went ahead without him. Since 2022 the allies had held one line: no Russian official sits at the table while Russia wages war on Ukraine. Trump broke it — the US never announced Siluanov was coming, and European ministers say they found him at the table when the talks opened. 🛢️ THE PENTAGON TAKES VENEZUELA'S OIL
The Pentagon will own 35 percent of the company taking over Venezuela's oil fields, US officials confirmed Monday night — fields run until now by China's Sinopec and Russia's state operators. Narativ reported Monday morning that Trump's "biggest oil deal in world history" had no paper trail. By nightfall it had names. The company is North American Blue Energy Partners, run by Alejandro Betancourt — an uncharged co-conspirator in a $1.2 billion laundering case whose cause Rudy Giuliani carried to the Justice Department. The contracts still haven't surfaced.

A Postal Service insider says Trump officials kept building their ballot-restriction system while a federal judge's order said stop — and built it so badly that millions may never get their mail ballots. The bond market voted first — three continents repricing America in a single morning. Behind all three sits the same author: Trump wrote the tariffs, seated Russia, and ordered the ballot lists. The deplorable policies of one president have pushed America's alliances, its currency and its voting system to the brink — deliberately. Sixty-three days from an election, the question is no longer what he is doing. It is whether the people asked to stop him — the courts, the allies, the voters — get there first.
