Excellent piece speaking about the personal toll all the rhetoric has taken for violence. Typically, as now, the Republicans jump to the conclusion that it was a left wing individual that did this, when in fact that is rarely the case, only stirs up more violence to be had. When Melissa Hortman and husband were killed and her lawmaker colleague was also shot along with his wife, where was the outrage from the republicans?

What's effed up Lev is we have a president who is a 34 count convicted felon and adjudicated rapist who on a daily basis bullies and threatens. He has divided this nation beyond our country. With his rhetoric of hate and racism.

Nope Lev P

Once AGAIN a political murder is called a tipping point.

Last month elected political figures and now a political commentator and over and over again.

Neither are worse than the other .

Political murder is a harbinger of more of the same on its way.

Mmm … what is the source of that number. Everything I have seen is less than 5 cases of trans-shooters and several have not confirmed (by the way, born males) but have highly publicized. Provide the source, please.

They don't have a source. They just get their blood pressure up to get more views. They are the weakest link.

No one should live in fear, Lev. KP will do/say whatever he can to please Dear Leader. DJT and his sycophants have been allowed to breed anger and hatred for far too long. It may take a long time to find out why this happened because of the level of dysfunction at the FBI.

I’ve seen in a different video where the man behind Kirk tips his Bill of his hat and then grabs his right ear lobe and then the shot rang out. That could have been a sign to send a signal to someone.

Wow, that is interesting. Where did you see that video? If you saw that I assume FBI, etc. are investigating but who knows. I do not trust the administration to be competent at this point, even in investigating the death of one of their own.

I saw it on substack. He was right behind him, so it’s somebody that analyze the video and I believe that video is now taken down. I saw it myself. He liked tipped the bill of his hat, and then grabbed his right ear lobe. It certainly look like a sign to someone. I have to say that there’s no way the shooter would’ve seen that sign because he was too far away, but maybe somebody else sent the signal? Heck, I don’t know, but it’s suspicious and they need to chase every possible lead.

The bullet hit Charlie's body armor and it deflected up into his neck and then into the cranial area. It did not go from one side to the other. there is no exit wound. I'm certain more will come out in the future but the idea that it was a clean shot through the neck is incorrect. It was a missed center-of-mass shot. The windage was a little bit too far right and a little bit too high. The range was 146 yd which means that for a 50-yard zero the elevation was probably probably set but windage was off by one or two clicks. Not that it matters. However, one should at least get the facts straight. I'm certain a lot more will come out.

Military snipers looking at the placement of the alleged shooter and the victim calculate the range at 136 meters, with a 9⁰ depresion. With a heavy bullet like the 30-06 the expected decision from the crosshair of a properly set up scope is ~one minute of angle. That's less than 1.5" deviation. Add in adrenaline, badly set up scope, and maybe it become two minutes of arc. If we ignore what we know about Mr Robinson and his familiarity with guns and say he was a terrible shot, the worst it's going to get is 4 minutes of angle which is an 8 inch square area at worst. Also given the speed and weight of the particular round in question, I don't think the armor would have saved him if it had been a perfect shot, center of mass on the plate. The levels of armor protection go from class I to class IV. I had IIIA, which would stop a 7.62 or . 308 bullet. My armor weighed 40 lb just for the upper body and was hard plate AR500 steel. A 30-06 would require level IV To have a chance at stopping it, but even if it doesn't penetrate the armor the amount of energy dumped will cause internal damage and probably broken ribs. It's like getting a sledgehammer to the chest.
