You criticize the Democrats for not having it all pulled together yet -I don't hear that you are listening to them. The Democratic Party--which is actually a federation--is in a civil war. It's the neoliberal Clinton hangovers, who have latched on to corporate largesse and are quite comfy, versus the people who have a more democratic sensibility, who think people shouldn't have to be struggling just to get by in a country that has so much money (created by the people who are struggling!) that goes to the top.
The Democrats have been having this debate for years now, and the establishment Dems has held onto power thanks to their money pals. Things have gotten extreme now. Will the old-line Dems grasp that the game has changed?
The midterms will give us data. I hope the old-liners don't misinterpret revulsion with Trump for support of their mushy-middle incremental approach and sit back and wait, again, for demographics or whatever to hand them the White House.
A leader or competing visions of leading will emerge, sometime in the (late) summer of 2027. The media love the horse race BS. For the nation’s sake -and the world's--I hope the different parts of the federation have deep conversations about all that needs to be done. Because for the next six years at a minimum, preferably eight, the socio-philic adults in this country need to stay in charge of the Reconstruction.

I looked up Riggleman after the program, and was kind of surprised at myself. The doo-doo we're in is deep. Very few are at all talking about it (probably because they're scared to look) and its damn sure that there is zero evidence that the Democratic leadership in DNC, the House or the Senate knows a friggin' thing about it. Only the very last of the four DNC paragraphs on their just received mid-terms election charge addressing the broader goals of the campaign (as compared with the mechanics) speaks to the larger threat to the founders' democratic system. Another chance lost to educate the demos.
