When it comes to what was under the labrynth, somebody needs to calculate whether the amount of dirt removed is equivalent to the size of the hole. If a workspace of some sort was down there, they would have had to dig it out and dispose of all the materials. Where did it all go? There would also not be as much dirt removed if there was a building down there. So calculating the amount of dirt removed and comparing it to the size of the hole would tell you if a building was down there. That building would have taken up space and would make a huge diifference in how much dirt would have been there. Not to mention disposing of the materials. They seemed to have only disposed of dirt.
