The Democrat “party” has been missing in action since Election Day November 2024. What must happen IMMEDIATELY:
1. An agenda that prioritizes
a. National priorities for the citizens of the wealthiest nation in history. Health care for all. Education excellence for all. Code compliant Housing for all. A strong productive agriculture sector for all our people. A clean environment for all. Justice for all.
b. Public safety for all. Accountability in all public services including all public services performed by contractors. Full accountability for all public expenditures. Full transparency for all public responsibilities.
c. A foreign policy that always reflects our constitutional values, is ratified by the representatives of the voters, and which demands integrity in execution.
d. A deliberate, executable nat ional public plan to restore fiscal responsibility and discipline t o our public finances. It must rest ore the public safety net to all. Without that, the potentially most productive young people who will become our future continuity will be shut out of our future. We need to return to the broad middle class that has the capability to grow and sustain growth. The wealthiest must fully support this objective; it is totally in their best interest and history is full of the wisdom of protecting and improving our “seed corn”.
e. There must be a deliberate public plan to rebuild our productive national institutions including the great national Departments of Justice, Energy, Commerce, State, Health and Human Resources, and Environment, etc. This must be done immediately and the plan to do so needs to be developed immediately by the many public institutions capable of doing so. Our great public foundations should assume that responsibility and seek participation broadly.
f. We need full disclosure, accountability, and transparency to reverse many serious missteps already undertaken. We will need to understand how and why these missteps took place. We may need to consider a national truth and reconciliation process to help those who wish to seek forgiveness and reconciliation with their fellow citizens; so many of these
people need to be helped to return to being the people they once were and want to become again. And those who have committed crimes against their country and fellow citizens must be held responsible for the consequences of those crimes.
2. These plans and objectives must be prioritized to restore the most important services first: healthcare, food adequacy, decent housing, strong education capability, livable wages (including public subsidies while businesses regain the ability to pay good living wages), and a sense of respect for the dignity of every person living in the US regardless of who they are. This respect and their inherent human dignity is a human right that belongs to the undocumented immigrants, those serving time in prison, those who refuse to return respect to other people, children, the elderly, … everyone.
3. We must recommit ourselves to the good of our country, people, national history that reflects hard won achievements whose costs have been paid by so many selfless patriots for the benefit of us who came after them.
Without a strong national agenda that builds on 250 years of promise, growth, sacrifice, and achievement, our opportunity to choose our American dream will surely become a footnote in history.
