Oil price hikes will not benefit Russia that much because every day Ukraine destroys more of Russia’s oil refineries, depot, and ports, deep within Russia. Ukraine has bombed ports in the Black Sea and the Baltic.
Russia is losing not just the war but the stability of the entire country.
I agree with Fran. Unfortunately, Zev has not fully analysed the situation. This leads to partial truth telling in a way that inflames our anxiety, IMHO. Yes, Trump is helping Putin. But that is NOT the whole story, not by a long shot.
Zev neglected, for instance, to map out the recent and growing number of long-distance strikes Ukraine has been making on big Russian oil refineries, pipelines and tanker ships. Show us a map and a few images of the fires!
Plus, the UK and some EU states (e.g. France and the Netherlands) have boarded Russian shadow fleet ships with 'bad papers' in the Baltic and English Channel, for example.
And by the end of this week, 90 Billion Euros long promised to Ukraine by the EU - but blocked by Orban (Putin's man, now defeated) - will finally be released to Ukraine. That is good news.

Trump is Putin’s handmaiden and will serve Putin no matter what it costs, including the lives of US servicemen and women. Sad. One can only hope that an increased draft will make some Russians think about what’s really good for their country.

Under the circumstances Russia currently finds itself in - or rather Putin and oligarchs etc - it must be one of the only countries in the world that can get away with a general mobilization without complete rebellion.
