Earlier today draft dodger Trump presented the Medal of Honor to past war heroes but not before droning on about his ballroom. He makes the announcement that we’re at war with Iran right as he’s dashing off to a MAGA fundraiser at Mar a Lago, wearing a silly baseball hat no less. 4 of our service men are dead and 5 critically wounded. Now we’re in day 3 of this war and still no prime time address to the nation. The Middle East has blown up because of his and Bebe’s folly. Trump has no plan and is acting like Iran is an episode of Let’s Make A Deal. Total ignorance of the animosities that goes back centuries. No idea what he is doing. The only thing we can be reasonably sure of is more body bags will return home and our commander and chief will likely be absent from the scene for their dignified transfer.

Yes, and he wiped out a high religious leader, of a different religion, while their nation was observing a religious fasting. Talk about winning hearts and minds in the Muslim world! By the way, is he going to solve the extreme water shortages in Tehran and the entire country? Short answer: NO.

Great Job !! This new war is Vietnam on Steroids, where a phony incident in the Gulf of Tonkin in which North Vietnam “attacked” a U.S. destroyer became the basis for a speedy emergency measure: The Gulf of Tonkin Congressional Resolution. That Resolution authorized a “Military response” to North Vietnam. It led to eight years of war and 57,000 KIAs whose names are on “The Wall” next to the Lincoln Memorial. As I said in my SubStack piece on the Iranian War Saturday, this will not end well.

We have to stay strong demanding all Epstein documents, and with the exception of victims information, they must be unredacted. If the Clintons came in to stand up for themselves, others can do the same.

"Every president since 1973 has ignored that."

Really?! Are you confirming that the US Congress did not vote to approve ANY of the US' wars since 1973? Is that true? Wow. (I'm Canadian, so I needed to ask.)

To me, that means that the US' internal propaganda must be working extremely well!

Because I see everyday Americans politely saying "Thank you for your service" to any US military people they happen to meet. So they are thanking military people for fighting in totally ILLEGAL wars! My mind boggles. I mean, that behaviour feeds the war machine, gives it respect, says it is laudatory, doesn't it?

Will people thank military people for their "service" in this Trump war on Iran, too?

To the contrary, the responsibility to “declare war” belongs to the Congress, under specific rules and procedures, yada yada. However, most of the recent military adventures (oops, I mean wars) were never quite declared as such. At best, they were based legally on an “authorization for military force”, initially for a specific threat such as a terrorist group, and then stretched over years to cover almost any counterterrorism or whatever operations. The Congress seems to have abdicated the power to declare war to the president; they really don’t seem to want their names all over it (in case things go badly. And after all: it’s foreign policy, what could go wrong if we just let a Malignant Narcissist with Fronto-Temporal Dementia run the world (into the ground) over the next three years. That three good, solid GOP years in which to do nothing about mass shootings, poverty, mental health, public health, disaster relief, bringing down the cost of living, ensuring that the laws be faithfully executed…. Anyway, we have to work with the Congress we have, by kicking as many Repugnicans out of office for being spineless sycophants while they watch the Toddler in Chief lash out with ever greater distractions from the Trumpstein Files. Hey! Remember the “X Files” (no, not Elon Musk’s FBI/CIA portfolio), no, the TV series? Somebody could write an entire new dramatic series modeled on this crew of rabid billionaires! But, the networks wouldn’t touch it until King Orange has been defenestrated.

Defenestrated. Such a Putin-esque thing to do. That would be appropriate...

Could Trump possibly (!) be playing double jeopardy? Duplicitous games with Russia? Russian & Iran are allies. Trump prostitutes himself to whomever. Avoiding Blackmail on one hand, and yet giving & getting information to his beloved Putin. Just a thought.
