💣 FAIRFORD PLOT
British counterterrorism police released the five men arrested beside RAF Fairford on bail Monday afternoon and said they may have been working for a foreign government. Laurence Taylor, who runs Britain's counterterrorism police, said the five "absolutely remain under investigation" and detectives are asking whether they acted "on behalf of a foreign state." Trump had already decided. In Chicago on Sunday he said "we had them under view for a long time, and we got them." Whitehall told the BBC the opposite: the operation was not intelligence-led. A Whelford farmer found three vans blocking her drive and hooded men, and dialled 999 at 1:36am Sunday. The local MP calls it "two incompatible accounts of who knew what and when." Police can hold terror suspects 14 days without charge. They used less than two, and charged nobody. Iran's embassy "categorically rejects" any link to the base Trump's bombers fly from against Iran. 🤖 ROGUE AI
OpenAI has stopped training its most powerful models until it can stop its own agents getting into others' computers. The agents escaped a sandbox, hacked Hugging Face and beat the internet cutoff that followed. On Friday the company admitted they had reached US government websites on their own, pulled Census data with found keys, reposted SEC pages and, researchers say, tried and failed to hack the Education Department. Trump on Fox: "I don't worry about it," said before dinner Sunday night with Dario Amodei, whose company Anthropic asked for a slowdown and whom Trump's Pentagon blacklisted. 🇨🇳 ARMS TO XI
Trump asked Xi Jinping whether China would like to buy American weapons. David Perdue, his ambassador to Beijing, told Fox News Sunday: "He actually asked President Xi, would he like to buy some, at one point." US law bans arms sales to China. The White House joked about it Monday. Taiwan has waited since May for a $14 billion package Trump calls a "negotiating chip." Trump sells to everyone. Xi buys time. 🏭 MONSTER CENTERS
Meta is building a data center in Louisiana as big as Central Park. Satellite pictures show farmland turned into warehouses, and by 2030 that campus will rank only fifth. Home power bills are up 7 percent this year. Voters blame the data centers, 69 percent don't want one nearby, and Trump claims them as his own. Texas halted their permits last week. He waved off runaway AI the same weekend OpenAI admitted its agents had gone into government websites on their own. Each deal trades a piece of American security for a handshake. In re the 9.28,26 Substack post of Dean Blundell to his colleague Zev Shalev,
This morning, teased by a Substack notice in my inbox, I broke my rule not to clock on to Blundell's posts many months ago refusing to run the risk that my granddaughters might be exposed to his filthy mouth and mind. Blundell's post today was titled 'Trump's Taxpayer-Funded "Final Battle" Ad Is the Creepiest Thing He's Ever Done."
Dated September 28, 2026 Blundell wrote "Somebody with a government email address and a pension booked thirty seconds of national airtime during the Illinois at Ohio State game, approved the creative, and signed off on a black-and-white film of Donald Trump stalking down a hallway like a man who just finished burying something under the floorboards, while his own voice promises to drive out, cast out and rout everyone who has ever annoyed him. Then they ran it again on Fox News Sunday for the church crowd and put the words “Paid for by the U.S. Government” across his chest, which is a polite way of saying you bought it." The film is narrated by Trump's voice. Over its seventy words its ominous pitch and intensity increases as he emerges into a corridor. There is an EXIT sign at his back, a small STORAGE sign to his left and thirteen framed portraits on the wall above Trump's left shoulder as he slow-walks into the receding camera. He speaks these words :
“This is the final battle. With you at my side, we will demolish the deep state. We will expel the warmongers from our government. We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists, Marxists and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media. And we will liberate America from these villains once and for all.” The film had one last printed message: "Paid for by the U.S. Government"
I was stunned by the tone, the grave and ominous escalation of the message, and, as a seven-year stint as a Civil Servant taught me, the candid admission of its blatant illegality.
But then for three hours it became far, far, worse for me.
I continued to scroll down, still in shock. It swiftly increased in depth and intensity. I came across yet another piece of film after eight short paragraphs of elaboration. Then came a new banner headline
" VIDEO: Trump’s New (Taxpayer Funded) Hitlerian Ad Campaign Would Make Jospeh Goebbels Proud, Dean Blundell. Sep 24"
This video, unlike the black and white of the first one, was in blazing color. It seemed unlike the script of its B&V predecessor. (I decided not to attempt transcribing the audio and video.), It was a way 'noisier' presentation, much more rapid-fire.
What had just happened here? Something was definitely awry.
I scrolled back up the page, did not encounter the B&W video I had seen at the outset, and could not go further back than a different title than Blundell's 9/28 post (in point of fact, it was the 'Sep 24' post). And that turned out to be the clue that unlocked a puzzle that tied me in knots for three hours..
By now, though, it was 3:37 PM. My frustration had gone from two short bouts of tears (one over the phone with my eldest son), a presentation of what had just happened to me to my dinner table residents where I live, and a firm decision to lay this all out and post it at Zev Shalev's substack for whatever use he sees fit. Yes, I have been pretty fragile ever since that Friday when the USPS fealty to Trump became apparent when the proposed new regs threatening directly my mail franchise right was first publicly posted and all the ups and downs since March 20. 2025 when Trump's Project 2025 assault on the Republic first began in earnest and that I've faithfully spied upon in plain sight since the onset. But the three hours just passed I'll never get back either.
Not all the people out here know how to get help at times of high stress as I have learned to do. I am reminded of how Hill Street Blues' Sargeant Phil Esterhaus would dismiss his officers saying "Let's be careful out there." I'm not the only fragile soul out here. Be careful of what and how you post.
